The Victorian Garden - Nature Exploited

The Industrial Revolution and the growth of the British Empire led us to see Nature as a cornucopia of unlimited resources. Plant-hunters scoured the world for new treasures, brought back to be kept in great hot-houses. Gardens depicted different countries and ages, filled with plants from around the world.

We too can create gardens in many different styles to evoke exotic or imaginative atmospheres with plants originating from all round the world, but unlike some of the Victorians, Co-Hort try to use plants and materials from sustainable sources.
